Inter-Foundation School Transfers (IFST)

****2025  Application window opens on 13 March 2025 and closed 03 April 2025 (12:00 midday BST)****

A process exists for F1s who are currently part of a 2-year Foundation Programme, but require to move to another location within the UK for F2 or prior to commencing F1.

The process has been designed to support transfers across Foundation Schools in cases where individual circumstances have changed since initial allocation or application.

More details can be found on the UKFPO website. There are certain criteria that must be met for an IFST. Transfers will only be allowed if circumstances have changed.

Each application form now requires Foundation School and Foundation School Director input, this is applicable for applicants who are in a current Foundation training programme.  The FSD is not reviewing and making a decision about the outcome, this is the responsibility oft the national IFST review panel.

Current trainees or allocated trainees MUST be submitted their application via email to the Scottish Foundation School at email: sfas@nes.scot.nhs.uk

Deadline for applications close on 03 April 2025, late applications will not be accepted.
