Trainee information
Regional study days
Our regional teaching occurs every other month with a full day of bleep free, protected teaching. Regional teaching days are built in as protected study leave into the rotas (where possible). There is a rotating curriculum across the year with different subspecialties getting covered. Each teaching day is split into two half days on a different paediatric subspecialty with an optional wellbeing session at the start of the day.
Teaching is available online through the NOS Regional Teaching Channel. You will also be able to access recordings and presentations of past sessions through our files.
You will be able to access our current working timetable through the same channel. (update the link)
Any questions regarding this can be directed to Dr Stewart Cox who is the regional teaching coordinator – Stewart.cox1@nhs.scot
Level Two Curriculum Teaching
We also have weekly trainee teaching which is designed to cover the Level Two Progress+ Curriculum. It is designed for senior trainees but junior trainees are encouraged to attend too if interested. These sessions cover a wide range of topics and are mapped to the level 2 progress+ Curriculum. They happen every Thursday at 3pm – in person and over teams.
The teams channel for this can be found here:

This teaching is in addition to the wide range of local teaching across the three sites.
