Scottish Foundation School Team

The Scottish Foundation School (part of the Scotland Deanery)

The Foundation School delivers on the operational aspects of Foundation such as recruitment, allocation of posts, pre-allocation, IFSTs (Inter-Foundation School Transfers), IRTs (Foundation Inter-Regional Transfers), the transfer processes cover Foundation doctors both into and out of Scotland.

The Scottish Foundation School provides a key link with the UKFPO (UK Foundation Programme Organisation), and is involved in national matters, curriculum alignment and updates, upkeep of Turas Training Portfolio and developments, educational induction, oversight of teaching, study leave, tasters, dissemination of ARCP requirements, teaching hours, Foundation Teaching Repository, organise PSA (Prescribing Safety Assessment) etc. 

However, the Scottish Foundation School's role is not to provide support on your current training post as this is the role of the Foundation Programme Directors and Training Programme Management Administration Team.

The Scottish Foundation School will send you regular communications including information that will support you in your training. E-mails will come from sfas@nes.scot.nhs.uk
