Data Reviews

Our data reviews take place twice per year.

1^st Data Review - (3 of, 1 for each SQMG) – Take place in August/September

At these we look at the data from the previous year’s GMC National Training Survey and our Scottish Training Survey for the year, commentary from DME reports and commentary from TPD reports to decide whether any actions ware required.

2^nd data reviews (3 of, 1 for each SQMG) – Take place in March

At these we review the November/December and January February runs of the Scottish Training Survey to identify if action was required for the bottom 10% of sites and review more generally the rest of the data.

GMC Trainee and Trainer Surveys

Surveys open towards end of March and close at beginning of May.

GMC Survey Results

Results published end June / beginning July.

Training Programme Director Reports

TPDs are required to complete reports for Deanery commenting on GMC Survey results etc. for their programme.   Key data source for QRP.

Director of Medical Education Reports - Part 1 and Part 2

DMEs are required to complete reports for the deanery SQMGs to use in our data reviews to inform decision making. 

Quality Management Activities

QM Activities will be organised throughout the training year and include deanery visits, Quality Engagement Meetings, SMART objectives meetings and Action Plan Review Meetings. 

STS

(Scottish Trainee Survey)

STS runs at various points throughout the year, surveying trainees at the end of each post.

STS Dashboard

STS results are available to TPDs at any point in the year, via QIMs; but a ‘RAG’ report based on 12 months-worth of data is produced every July.

Deanery Report to GMC

The Deanery provides continuous reporting to the GMC via online Quality Reporting System (QRS)

SQMGs

(Specialty Quality Management Group)

There are 3 SQMGs and they meet 3 or 4 times per year.
