Dental Directorate Educational Quality and Safety Group (DEQSG)

The Dental DEQSG is a dedicated group which provides strategic educational quality and safety oversight and assurance for all educational programmes and products within the PSD Scotland Dental Directorate. 

DEQSG Membership consists of the Directorate Education Lead (Chair), Postgraduate Dental Dean, Quality Management team, Dental and Optometry Workstream Leads, Dental Directorate General Manager, Senior Analyst and Senior Admin Officer. 

The group meets every 4-6 weeks.

The DEQSG is responsible for:

1. Quality oversight and assurance
2. Innovation and good practice
3. Support for Educators and Business Support teams 

Quality management activity undertaken by the Dental Quality Management team will be reported to the DEQSG. The DEQSG is integrated into the wider governance structure and provides a formal route for assurance, recommendations, risks, proposals and reports to be reviewed by the Dental Directorate. The DEQSG reports formally to the PSD Scotland Education Committee via the Dental Executive team. The Education Committee is part of the PSD Scotland Board.
