Aims and objectives
Within a complex health and care system, healthcare professionals will need to draw on more than their clinical and technical skills alone. The LaMP programme is an entry-level course and has been designed by NHS Education for Scotland (NES) to help and support individuals as they develop a range of personal and professional skills and behaviours which will contribute to their effectiveness as a clinician.
This programme has been designed to offer a blended learning approach which normally consists of two development workshops, an online module and a workplace-based project, however currently only workshop 1 is required. This full-day workshop describes key areas of performance under 5 domains:
The programme is completed as shown below.
Target audience

Register and book
To register for the programme, book your workshop, or add yourself to a waiting list, please register/login to your LaMP Programme account on The Knowledge Network www.lamp.nes.scot.nhs.uk. Due to compatibility issues, some devices are not suitable for booking onto courses.
Please ensure both your The Knowledge Network account and your NES Portal account have your most up to date details, using the same contact email address for both.
Bookings cannot be transferred onto different cohorts.
Delegates should take part in a short audio-visual test with a course facilitator, in advance of the workshop. Test dates and times will be made available upon booking.
Places are limited and if you are unable to commit to a course date please cancel your booking as soon as possible to give someone else the opportunity to fill the place – thank you.
Please note that workshops may be cancelled at very short notice. Reasons for this might include a lack of participants, or issues securing faculty to deliver the courses. In the event of a course being cancelled, delegates will be contacted by email as a matter of urgency.
Technical guidance
The online full-day workshop will be held on the Adobe Connect app. By booking onto this programme you are committing to download the Adobe Connect app (instructions will be given upon booking) and using Adobe Connect as instructed. Quality improvement project
Due to the pressures of COVID, we have been unable to deliver the Leadership and Management Programme in a face to face capacity. The programme has restarted online but will now be offered on a workshop 1 (full-day) basis only, therefore workshop 2 won’t be required. This is an interim arrangement to support trainees towards CCT. However, there is an expectation that trainees should gather evidence in their portfolio from their clinical practice which demonstrates leadership and management skills. Delegates can complete a Quality Improvement project in their own clinical time and upload it to their Portfolio as evidence, if they choose to. The QI Lead in your health board would welcome any QI project enquiries. QI Leads Contact List
