F1 Allocation

If you are applying to the two-year Foundation Programme, please visit the Scottish Medical Training website to find out about the programmes currently advertised in the Scottish Foundation School.

On allocation to Scotland, you will be required to complete a two stage process of allocation to your individual Foundation programme.

Stage 1 – You will be required to rank the Groups (e.g. E01) in order of preference.  Groups are ”clusters” of Programmes that are in a particular region. You can rank them in any order e.g. N01, S06, W21, E01 and do not have to rank all the Groups in one region together.

Stage 2 - Once allocated to a Group, you will be required to rank the individual Programmes (e.g. E01001, E01002) in that Group which also provides you with information on the order of the rotation of placements. You will then be matched to an individual Programme.

Further information about this process in each region can be found on the Scottish Medical Training website.

Applications to Foundation Programmes are made through Oriel.

Information about F2 Stand-alone recruitment can also be found on the Scottish Medical Training website.
