The format and content of the PassPACES courses will be fully updated to reflect the new PACES23 examination format (PACES23 | MRCPUK), with an emphasis on the new Consultation Stations (2 and 5).

PACES Course timetable

Courses typically commence between 8.00 and 8.30am and finish at 5.00pm to permit an extra hour of teaching on each of the first three days.

Teaching on these three days comprises four clinical sessions, each lasting one hour and 45 minutes, and includes demonstrations of clinical examination techniques relevant to that day's clinical sessions, e.g. Neurology on Day 1, Abdomen on Day 2 and Cardiology on Day 3.

Clinical stations involve structured bedside teaching with emphasis on technique and presentation. Teaching takes place in small groups.

Mock Examination

On Day 4 each candidate will be given a Mock Examination which will comprise a 40 minute Clinical assessment on a 1 to 1 basis, covering the four main clinical stations (Cardiovascular, Respiratory, Abdomen and Neurology), followed by individual feedback.

Candidates will also be given Consultation (Stations 2 and 5) and Communication Skills (Stations 1 and 4) Mock Examinations.

Courses scheduled between 6th and 23rd September will be held at Guy's Campus, with the remaining Courses held at Novotel London West
