Welcome to the North of Scotland Region of NHS Education for Scotland. The North Region covers a wide geographical area and includes the Health Boards of Grampian, Highland, Shetland, Orkney and Western Isles. The two Regional Offices, in Inverness and Aberdeen, are primarily responsible for postgraduate medical education and training across a diverse range of education settings, from remote primary care settings, through small hospital environments to university teaching centres offering a complete range of foundation, GP and specialty training experience.
The Inverness office is in the Centre for Health Science on the Raigmore Hospital campus in Inverness - co-located with NES colleagues including the national Remote and Rural Healthcare Educational Alliance (RRHEAL), the Centre for Rural Health and other academic institutions including the Universities of Aberdeen, Stirling and the University of the Highlands and Islands.
The position of our offices, at close proximity to clinical services and University facilities ensure excellent collaborative working across healthcare systems.
