Post-Foundation Career Support

The Development and Wellbeing Service (TDWS) provides careers support to doctors who completed Foundation training in Scotland within the last two years. The service is also available to doctors who undertook Foundation training outside Scotland within the same timeframe and are currently living in Scotland.

Local advice from colleagues, supervisors, Training Programme Directors (TPDs), and Royal Colleges should be the first point of contact. TDWS offers additional guidance, particularly during the “Arriving at a Decision” and “Next Steps” stages of the S.C.A.N. framework, as well as support with applications and interview preparation.

Portfolio career pathways to the GMC Specialist Register are dependent on local provision. TDWS can offer general information about these routes; however, detailed, specialty-specific guidance should be sought directly from the relevant Royal Colleges and through local enquiries.

If you would like to meet with one of the TDWS Associate Postgraduate Deans for some careers support, please complete this form and one of the TDWS team will contact you to arrange an appointment.
