Study Leave - FAQs
No. Eligibility criteria for recruitment have been amended to take account of the reduced availability for formal courses. Check the details for your specialty HERE |
No. Our recommendation is that trainees should not rebook attendance at any face to face events for the foreseeable future. We would recommend that you consider booking virtual training opportunities where they are available for the next six months. |
No. The study leave budget has not been rolled forward but where possible postponed courses and events that were funded will not be affected, as in many cases the organising body will honour the booking and fee already paid for a reorganised date. We will however ensure that any catch up on delayed study leave does not prevent study leave being granted for mandatory courses required in this coming year of training. |
In the first instance you should seek reimbursement of the course fee from the organisaer. If the course fee or other incurred expense has been refunded, NES will obviously not expect to pay these expenses. All other non-refundable expenses will be reimbursed. Details of study leave policies and procedures can be found HERE |
At the moment we have asked people to send claims in via email as staff are not in the office to collect paper forms. Please use this e-mail address to make your study leave claims: study.leave@nes.scot.nhs.uk |
