Educational and Clinical Supervisors
Your Educational Supervisor and Clinical Supervisor will typically be a consultant or General Practitioner who works closely with you on the ward or in practice. They will provide you with feedback and a formal report at the end of each post. These supervisors are your primary point of contact for any help or support you may require during your placement.
You should inform your supervisor of any sickness absence, and they are able to offer pastoral support if necessary. Information about your Educational and Clinical Supervisor can be found on Turas and within your Turas Training Portfolio. It is also possible that your Clinical and Educational Supervisor may be the same person.
All of these senior clinicians are available to support you, and they have been appointed based on their dedication to Foundation doctor training. If you need assistance, you are encouraged to contact them—they expect you to do so if the need arises.
Raising concerns
First you should ask your clinical or educational supervisor for advice. If you feel you need further support, contact your Foundation Programme Director or someone at the Deanery.
Or alternatively complete the Raising a Concern Form.
