Top Five things you need to know.

  • Busy unit with plenty of opportunities for learning, particularly in obstetrics, maternal medicine (regional sickle cell and HIV experts associated with the unit) and gynae oncology.
  • Approachable consultant and midwifery staff who encourage development whilst maintaining a supportive environment.
  • ST3-5 on nightshift will always have a senior colleague doing obstetrics. This is an excellent opportunity for supporting trainees through transition onto the middle grade rota.
  • GRI is the first unit in the West of Scotland to have a robot for gynaecology operating.
  • Currently free parking is available but need to be there reasonably early to get a space.
