Associate Postgraduate Deans for Foundation and Consortium Leads
The Foundation Programme is supported by a dedicated team of senior clinicians, each with specific responsibilities to ensure your training and development as a Foundation doctor is both effective and supportive. These individuals have been carefully selected for their enthusiasm and commitment to the training of Foundation doctors. All of these senior clinicians are committed to helping you throughout your Foundation training. If you need assistance, please do not hesitate to reach out to them. They expect and encourage you to contact them whenever support is required, ensuring you receive the guidance necessary for your success and well-being during the training programme.
Professor Alan Denison is the Lead Dean for the Foundation Programme. As the principal figure in the leadership team, Professor Denison provides strategic oversight and guidance for the programme as a whole.
Dr Fiona Cameron is the Foundation School Director (FSD) for Scotland. Key responsibilities include quality control, faculty development, assessment oversight (including ARCPs), promoting multi-professional learning and ensuring comprehensive training, support and access to resources for all foundation doctors.
Each region has an Associate Postgraduate Dean who is responsible for the Foundation Programme within their area. While you may rarely interact directly with your regional Associate Postgraduate Dean, they are available should you wish to meet them or if you require adjustments to your training programme. Their role is pivotal in ensuring the programme meets the needs of all trainees.
