Study Leave in Foundation

The guidance document in the Programme Directors Handbook is intended to assist programme directors in considering applications for study leave, with and without funding.

It is complimentary to the study leave policy and does not supersede any of the policy provisions.

In regard to Foundation training there are specific arrangements detailed in the policy which remain extant.

The guidance document would only be applicable to Foundation Programme Directors in making discretionary decisions in regard to study leave time for Foundation Year 2 doctors as all funding is centrally managed for the provision of mandatory curriculum educational activities.
