RCPE Dermatology Course
Course/event description
Dermatology services are increasingly affected by external factors, which will be the focus of this meeting. Melanoma incidence continues its inexorable rise, but how much is real and how much might be overdiagnosis? Will Artificial Intelligence or sunlight avoidance solve it for us? How concerned should we be about the treatments we offer to our patients? Healthcare and public expectations are changing and we hope this meeting will stimulate thought and conversation.
Topics include:
- Melanoma diagnosis and overdiagnosis
- Pigmented Lesions - the role of AI
- Redefining the risk-benefit balance of sunlight
- When a rash is more than skin deep: identifying life-threatening drug hypersensitivity reactions
- Topical steroid withdrawal syndrome
- Red legs
Target audience: Designed for a broad audience —including dermatologists, generalists, trainees, GPs, Allied health professionals, and students
Organising Committee: Professor Richard Weller, Dr James Wiggins, Dr Elsa Morgan, Dr Allan Matthews
