MBChB University of Aberdeen Medical School Careers Fair

Course/event description

I am looking for enthusiastic trainees at all stages, as well as consultants, who would be interested in taking part in the University of Aberdeen Medical School Careers Fair, which will take place on the afternoon of Monday 18th May at the Suttie Centre, Aberdeen, est 1.15 for 1.30 start, to 3.30pm.

In previous years the fair was limited to Year 5 students. This year, to make best use of your time, students from all years will be able to attend throughout the afternoon.

The fair has a relaxed and informal format. Trainees and consultants will be based at their specialty- or foundation/core-specific stand, and would speak with interested students as they come along.

Clinicians are very welcome to bring demonstrative equipment if they wish. In previous years this has included airway management demonstrations, chest drains, ascitic taps, laparoscopic training sets, skin biopsy kits, and CT/MRI images on laptops, among others. Please do bring along information such as Royal College paraphernalia - QR code or handout format, or any programs / links relevant to students interested in your area.

All clinicians who take part will receive a certificate of involvement.

We are keen to have representation from all stages, including FY doctors, IMT/core trainees, specialty trainees across all areas. More than one volunteer per specialty is very welcome.

If you are interested, please email me at alexandra.bonsall@nhs.scot.
