The overall aim of the course is to improve understanding of the use of EEG in various ITU settings including status epilepticus, acute brain injury and post-cardiac arrest, as well as the advantages and limitations of different EEG modalities. This is a practical course that includes live demonstrations and illustrative cases.

Anticipated learning outcomes:
Better knowledge of the EEG as a neurophysiological technique, non-epileptiform and epileptiform abnormalities, as well as its limitations
An understanding of the role of EEG in the treatment of critically ill patients with a variety of underlying conditions including in status epilepticus, brain injury and following cardiac arrest
An appreciation of the advantages and limitations of continuous and intermittent EEG
Practical insights into setting up an ICU EEG service

We do have a waiting list for the day made up of those we could not accommodate last year, and places are allocated on a first come first served basis.
