Information for ST3 applicants to higher medical specialties

NES has been made aware by the Royal College of Physicians of London of an error in the offers process for applicants to ST3 recruitment into higher medical specialties. This has affected the final scores candidates have received.

We were obviously very disappointed and very sorry indeed to learn of this and appreciate that this will be a worrying and difficult time for those doctors directly affected.

Since learning of this, NES has been working with its partners across the UK to ensure that action is taken to resolve this as quickly as possible.

The Royal College of Physicians of London has issued an apology for this situation and is taking full and immediate responsibility for addressing the issue to ensure the process is fair for all candidates. They have written to all candidates to alert them to this problem and to provide full details of the steps they are taking to rectify the situation.
